Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands
As All-Round Brewer you are able to independently brew on a manual brewhouse, operate a semi-automatic canning-line and plan and execute cellar & lab work efficiently in between tasks. You are not only able to work according to set standards and specifications, but are driven to raise the overall standard of quality to the next level.
Job-tasks include but are not limited to all aspects of raw materials handling, wort production, yeast handling and pitching, fermentation monitoring, general cellar work, operating of a centrifuge, carbonation of finished beer, operating packaging line, equipment CIP and general sanitation.
• Stock Management.
• Wort production.
• General cellar-work such as equipment CIP, yeast purging and dry-hopping of beers.
• Lab work such as monitoring fermentations, yeast counting, FF-test and VDK-tests.
• Packaging beer in kegs, cans and bottles.
• Overseeing the workflow and managing production on a daily basis.
• Development and finetuning of SOP’s.
• Thinking along with continuous improvement of product and process.
We are looking for someone who is hands on, persevering, passionate about craft beer and willing to brew the best Rotterdam beer for the world. This means you are able to oversee and manage the production process on a daily basis while keeping focus on raising the overall beer quality.
You have a fundamental understanding of the brewing proces and technical proficiency with brewing
equipment and at least two years of relevant experience in a craft brewery. You are able to work in a structured, clean and thorough manner. You are accustomed to working to Standard Operating Procedures, HACCP and (Dutch) Hygiene-code requirements.
You have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate both verbal & in writing. You possess strong problem-solving skills and have a high tolerance for change and enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment
The following points are considered as a plus:
• Any formal training in beer or brewing.
• Experience in canning of beer.
• Experience in beer specific lab work.
• Experience in barrel ageing of beer.
• Experience with Breww or similar brewery management software.
• A technical aptitude.
• A forklift certificate.
• A valid driving licence.
• Has worked in hospitality before.
• Has an interest in brewing science
