Welcome to Kaapse Maria, Rotterdam’s iconic gastropub in the center of the city. Kaapse Maria is for everyone at anytime, because getting together should always mean good food and great drinks.
DRINKS
As a gastropub founded by a local craft brewery, we prioritise experimental fermentation in all forms. We have 24 taps from which we pour a wide variety of craft beers and ciders from around the world, with a particular focus on sours and mixed fermentation. This interest is mirrored in our selection of natural wines, as well as in our carefully curated cellar menu, where we store our favourite rare bottled beers and ciders to share with fellow curious enthusiasts.
FOOD
Our kitchen creates fresh and seasonal dishes that change weekly in relation to what is fresh from the local farmers and markets where we source our ingredients.
Aside from our commitment to local, seasonal and biological vegetables and meat, our kitchen’s creations respond to the many natural wines and craft beers and ciders we have behind the bar. Our knowledgeable floor staff is always available to give pairing recommendations.
ART
Every year, Kaapse Maria works with a young curator to put on exhibitions in our upstairs space. The goal is to give young creatives from Rotterdam the opportunity to gain visibility in our beautiful old building. At the same time, it is a chance for the Kaapse Maria guests to enjoy the art that Rotterdam has to offer.
GROUP RESERVATIONS
We accept reservation requests for groups larger than 15. Once you place your request, our team will get back to you as soon as possible to confirm the reservation. Your reservation is not confirmed until you receive an email from us.

Please note: Our kitchen closes at 21:30 on Sunday, and at 22:00 from Thursday – Saturday.
